T. CRAIG TAKACS, GENERAL MANAGER

Mr. Takacs began his construction management career in 1985 as a Superintendent with Pulte Corporation, (Houston division) responsible for all phases of residential home construction from material and vendor scheduling, on-site inspections, customer interaction, through to post-closing "punch-out". After stints as Project and Sales Manager, Craig rose to the position of Director of Construction responsible for Houston division's ($96 million annual revenue) operational management issues including: production and warranty administration, budgets and forecasting, product design, procedures and policy implementation, and business plan development and execution. In 1998, the Pulte Houston Division Closed 728 units while increasing gross profit margins and by the end of 3rd quarter 1997, the Houston division led Pulte in customer satisfaction survey results. As Operating Committee and Texas House Cost Committee member, Mr. Takacs implemented "standardized" policies including: compensation and bonus practices, house cost management systems, construction release, delivery, and closing processes, EPA and OSHA compliance practices, and "Rules of Building" procedures.

Mr. Takacs was a founding shareholder of Dynalyst Manufacturing Corporation and has been the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer since the company’s incorporation in 2002. Dynalyst is manufacturing company of low-lot, quick turn-around, multi-layered Printed Circuit Boards, “PCBs” specializing in semiconductor manufacturer test floor solutions.

Prior to Dynalyst, (February 1999 - current) Mr. Takacs joined Institutional Capital Management, Inc. (NASD B/D & Investment Bank) as a Principal. ICM is FINRA Broker/Dealer & Investment Bank specializing in Fixed-Income Securities for Institutional Clients. Mr. Takacs has Securities licenses Series 63 and Series 7.

Mr. Takacs received his BBA in Business Management in 1984 from Texas A&M University.

Mr. Takacs accepted the General Manager position with US Design & Construction Corp in July of 2008.

Since joining USD&C, the Company has delivered stores to Cookie Associates, Ltd. in Texas, and Magnifique Parfumes & Cosmetics DBA Perfumania, Hastings Entertainment, Inc., and Robert Wayne Footwear in various parts of the country from Wyoming to Wisconsin to Florida as well as a Chelsea Property Group project at the Premium Outlet Mall on FM290 in Houston, Texas.

DAVID KING, PROJECT MANAGER

Mr. King began his construction career in 1970 in the Houston, Texas residential framing sector. His extensive construction experience makes him a valuable asset.  Since joining U. S. Design & Construction Corporation in 1994, David has managed the overall production of numerous projects, including; freestanding buildings, office build-outs, and retail interior finish work.  His experience, analytical & organizational skills, as well as his “hands-on” and safety conscious proclivity enable Mr. King to manage the oversight of multiple million-dollar projects concurrently. He is highly regarded by our clients for his competence, professionalism and ability to communicate effectively with all constituents and ultimately deliver projects in a timely manner and on budget.

  • Deer Park ISD Administration Annex:  renovation; 30,000 square feet

  • Hospitals:  renovation; several projects; x-ray; interior finish; installation of equipment

  •  Industrial: 3 Halliburton buildings at the Dresser Complex, Tilt-wall Enventrue Building for Brown & Root,     expansion / remodel of building "S" North-belt facility, installation of fuel storage tanks and fuel pumps for Spring I.S.D and Harris County Flood Control

  • Misc:   Renovation of pedestrian walkway and running track for Halliburton and The City of Houston

THOMAS PITARRA, SUPERINTENDENT

Mr. Pitarra's construction career started in 1974.  His vast experience was cultivated on numerous residential and commercial projects in Florida and Texas.  Tom owned and operated a custom woodworking company in Jacksonville, FL then joined Tidewater Construction Company as a Superintendent performing remodeling projects in Jacksonville and the historic areas of St. Augustine. Tom moved back to Houston in 1994 and has been employed by U. S. Design & Construction since 1995.  Tom's knowledge and experience provides our valued clients with the confidence that their projects will be completed to their ultimate satisfaction, on time and within budget.

ROBERT MARTINEZ, SUPERINTENDENT

Robert’s broad range of experience in the construction industry began in 1987. He has a background as a Maintenance Supervisor for a property management company, where he was responsible for all aspects of property maintenance, including; carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC and electrical. And having been an independent subcontractor himself, Robert knows the value of the customer, and is keenly aware of delivering ‘whatever it takes’ to get the job done to our clients expectation level. He is knowledgeable in all phases of construction.

The following is a partial list of Robert's accomplishments as a Superintendent:

  • Retail: Pearle Vision, Aeropostale, Gymboree, Crazy Eight, Tru Logistic painting assembly line addition, Stewart Weitzman.  

Robert is a superintendent who not only consistently delivers a quality store, but also strengthens relationships with our clients and subcontractors.

BRIAN TROTTA, SUPERINTENDENT 

Brian Trotta’s construction experience goes back to 1980 when he started as a commercial framer and drywall hanger. He went on to start his own drywall subcontracting business, later getting into commercial and residential trim carpentry. In 1994 he became a Superintendent and ultimately supervised the completion of six (6) Target stores from the ground up and four (4) Wal-Mart remodels. 

The following is a partial list of Brian's accomplishments as a Superintendent:

  • Retail:  Crate & Barrel, Victoria Secrets, Express, Helzberg Diamonds, Guess Jeans, Banana Republic, Aeropostale, Wet Seal, Hot Topic, Forever 21, Pottery Barn, Hallmark Cards, White Hall Jewelry, Perfumania, Hasting Entertainment.

  • Restaurants:  Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, McDonalds, Shake and Steak.  

Brian’s broad construction experience and knowledge as well as his natural project dedication are only part of the reason that he is repeatedly requested to be the job Superintendent by our clients for their project.  

LOUISE MAUTZ, CONTROLLER 

Louise Mautz started working part-time for the Company’s forerunner, (Charles Sheffield Const Co.) as part of high school work program (ICT) at its inception in 1973. Louise eventually became the office manager and was named the Corporation’s Secretary and Treasurer at its (Texas) Incorporation in 1985. Louise retired in 1994 to stay home with her kids until 2005 when she returned to USD&C as the Company’s Controller.

CYNTHIA SPEARS, AP & PRODUCTION SUPPORT

Cynthia Spears started with U. S. Design & Construction Corporation in 2004 as an Executive Assistant. Cynthia began to hone her coordinator and administrative skills back in 1998 when she worked with the American Red Cross. Cynthia is currently performing the Production Support and AP functions.
